What You Should See

Man, I am mother*cking sick of all of these mother*cking Superfly ads on mother*cking YouTube!  F*ck that movie!  F*ck you, Superfly!  Nobody go see SuperFly!  Nobody go to that movie because of all the f*cking YouTube ads!  F*ck Superfly!

Gosh, I’m… I’m sorry about that.  But those YouTube ads, man, they really got to me.  In a bad way.  Message to YouTube’s advertising team:  Stop running the same ads over and over!  You’re just building up negative sentiment towards the ad’s subject when you’re already interrupting content in new and unexpected ways (sometimes before, sometimes in the middle, often ahead of live events, therefore causing us to miss even more of the live steams we’re trying to catch) and it’s the same damn ad everytime for something we already didn’t care about!

Anyway, getting back to movies, I’ve been thinking a lot about Tag for this weekend.  Oh Tag.  Poor TagTag, Tag, Tag, Tag, Tag.  Why, Tag, are you even opening this weekend?  Why?  You look like a decent enough comedy movie with a big heart at your core.  You look like a movie that could bring in a decent chunk of change under the right circumstances.  So why, Tag, why, are you opening against Incredibles 2?  What are you thinking?

So that’s all the big new releases coming up this weekend, Incredibles 2, Tag, and SuperFly, and I think they all have their audiences pretty well sorted out already and you know if you should or shouldn’t go, but the three other movies opening in more limited release this weekend look pretty strong too.  The Accountant of Auschwitz, on prosecuting a 93-year-old Nazi war criminal, looks like an intriguing take on an uncomfortable topic, Venus, following a transgender woman’s discovery that she’s a father, has an interesting twist on contemporary topics, and First Reformed is probably the one of all of this weekend’s new movies I would say you have to see for its take on religion and politics.

But if you take away nothing else from this week’s “Predictions & Predilections”, it’s that you shouldn’t, under any circumstances, see SuperFly.
