What You Should See
It’s a pretty evenly mixed bag for movies this weekend, which is actually better than most of the time when there’s really only one or two movies worth seeing. Make no mistake, that’s by design as the movie studios know that part of maximizing profits is not stepping on each others’ toes by dividing attention between similar (or similarly large) movies. For instance, it’s not like Batman v Superman and Captain America: Civil War were ever really going to come out on the same weekend.
10 Cloverfield Lane should be the headliner this weekend (our review will be up soon), though it’s highly unlikely to topple Zootopia for the top box office spot, and I would definitely recommend making time for The Little Prince and Nina Forever (though that last one is only playing on Friday, but you can also just watch it on iTunes right now). And yes, I did start this paragraph’s first sentence with a numeral, that’s your problem, not mine!
Our recommend against list includes The Brothers Grimsby and The Young Messiah, the former because Sascha Baron Cohen can’t be trusted anymore and the latter because even Sean Bean can’t give us faith in a faith-based movie.
