What You Should See
Finally… Vox Lux opens in Edmonton…!
That’s probably the biggest news of the weekend for new movies, and mostly just for me personally since it’s the one movie I explicitly remember opening early last December that we wanted to see before writing our year-in review that never came close to opening anywhere in Edmonton until now, almost two months later. Vox Lux is what I would see this weekend. If I was going out to see a movie. Which I wouldn’t. There’s a storm coming. Literally.
The other two new movies are Miss Bala and Cold War. By the looks of them, I honestly don’t think there’s much value in me writing anymore. Do what you want. I’m probably not going to see either. And neither are you. I mean, there’s a storm coming.
Oh, and I’ll just remind you here that Peter Jackson’s They Shall Not Grow Old is showing at South Edmonton Common and the St. Albert Landmark starting today too. It’s a movie that’s basically pulling a verse Vox Lux in that it actually already opened in late December here in limited engagements, but today’s the day it officially opens wide throughout North America. It actually looks pretty incredible. If only that storm weren’t coming.
