What You Should See

Damn!  Damn!  Damn Damn Damn!  That was me this morning as I cracked open my freshly printed copy of the Internet this morning over a cup’a joe and perused reviews of The Dark Tower.  I was really holding out hope for that one.  Alas, poor Steven-King-movie adaptations!  Another one to avoid.  And I really wanted to see a new movie this weekend too!

I mean, I could recommend Detroit, which looks important, and I could recommend The Trip to Spain, a series of which I’ve seen seen the original and kind of/sort of liked.  I could recommend Lady Macbeth, which has gotten great reviews, or I could recommend Mermaids, a Canadian-produced documentary on “mermaiding” which so far holds 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.  But I don’t wanna!  I don’t wanna recommend movies that are high brow or critically acclaimed!  I just wanna see a movie with a guy who shoots guns playing an inter-dimensional game of cat and mouse!  I that so much to ask?  Is it?!  Is it really too much to ask?!?

And oh yeah, Kidnap opens this weekend too.   Don’t see Kidnap.  Alas, poor Halle Berry!  She was once an Oscar winner.
