What You Should See

Feels like I don’t really need to tell you what’s new you should see this weekend. There’s The Fate of the Furious (and I doubt I’ll have to convince you which way to go on that one) and then two movies you’ve probably never heard of.

Actually, y’know what? I will tell you go see The Void. It’s exactly the kind of gross-out, stick-with-you horror that we all fondly remember (or dread) from the truly classic horror movies of our youths (if you were a little kid who was unhealthily exposed to pretty mature stuff in the ‘80s that is).

If you’re considering The Red Turtle, know that it’s entirely without dialogue and I really thought it would’ve been better with a few more edits and about 15 minutes cut from its running time. I’m not saying it’s bad, I’m not saying you should avoid it, but it’s not quite as unconditionally good as you would probably be hoping for from such a critically acclaimed, arty-looking French movie.
