What You Should See
There’s really something for everybody this weekend, with The LEGO Batman Movie appealing to families, John Wick: Chapter 2 for the guys, Toni Erdmann for foreign-film lovers, We Can’t Make the Same Mistake Twice for the political, Below Her Mouth for the non-heteronormative romantics, and Fifty Shades Darker for the self-punishing nihilists who wish to cause serious and irreparable harm to themselves (so basically the moviegoing equivalent of appointing Betsy Devos as Secretary of Education, #PotentialGrizzlies).
To be honest, there are enough reasons to see five out of seven of those movies, the one I really want to draw your attention to is Mad Max: Fury Road — Black & Chrome. It’s your chance to see the Oscar-award-nominated, post-apocalyptic action movie, a combination that’s extremely rare to see in one movie, this time in grim and gritty black and white! Unfortunately, it’s only playing once, tonight, on a lovely, lovely Friday at Metro Cinema, so get your tickets! Seriously! For once my enthusiasm for something is both unbridled and unsarcastic!
