This Weekend’s Box Office Predictions

  1. Finding Dory
  2. Central Intelligence
  3. The Conjuring 2
  4. Warcraft
  5. Now You See Me 2

What You Should See

As far as I’m concerned, there are only two types of people in the world.

  1. People who see Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson turn around as a CGI fat man in the Central Intelligence trailer and laugh uproariously, and
  2. People who see the same and can feel a piece of themselves dying every time someone laughs at that scene.

After reading that, if you haven’t figured out what our recommendation for Central Intelligence is, you probably fall into that first category.

Finding Dory is an obvious lock for this weekend’s box office crown, and, really, it warms my cockles to see that so many people will be enjoying something this weekend that’s actually, objectively good.

Despite the release of two likely to be blockbuster movies this weekend, one of which we wouldn’t be surprised to see go on to become the highest grossing movie of the year, I’d be remiss if I didn’t also highly recommend Raiders! The Story of the Greatest Fan Film Ever Made. It might be a little “inside baseball” [shudders at writing such an overused term, but was too lazy to think of another term], but it still looks like a “jolly good time” [shudders again for similar reasons].
