What You Should See

The combination of surprisingly good reviews and this being one of Alan Rickman’s final roles may make Eye in the Sky a worthy use of your time this weekend. Meanwhile, if you’re still feeling down about the new Ghostbusters after that trailer, well, I still would never recommend the faith-based God’s Not Dead 2, but it’s at least nice to see original Ghostbuster Ernie Hudson still getting work. Director Terrence Malick’s Knight of Cups, playing at the Princess, also finally opens locally, and its look at Hollywood screenwriting… look, it’s a pretty bad weekend for new movies, all three being very much of the “up their own ass” variety, and what’s worse is I can’t even recommend rewatching the only major blockbuster from last weekend, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Review’ll be up tomorrow.

There’s also Hitchcock/Truffaut at the Garneau, which might be a decent choice for film buffs, but actually, if you haven’t yet, this weekend would be a good time to polish off Daredevil season two. Our review will be up soon.
