What You Should See

Steve Jobs looks like the obvious choice for this weekend, no matter its gross factual inaccuracies (it’s not a biopic, after all), but like last weekend’s Bridge of Spies, it seems like the kind of movie that you can wait on seeing until its inevitable Oscar push. Other than that, it’s pretty much a logjam of disappointing new releases coming out this weekend mostly because they’d do even worse next weekend with the Saturday Halloween keeping potential moviegoers otherwise occupied. I was holding out hope for The Last Witch Hunter, but that’s not looking good, so if anything I’d say you should probably just spend all day at Scotiabank Theatre and watch the Back to the Future trilogy on the big screen. Also, for some reason, the Garneau is showing The Rocky Horror Picture Show on Saturday, so I guess that’s an option if you’re one of those people.

Or maybe see Jem and the Holograms, just because… well, it’d be just kind of funny to be able to say you saw Jem and the Holograms this past weekend.

Or, OR… you could just play the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer over and over for two hours. At least you know that won’t be a complete waste of your time.
