What You Should See

This weekend it’s a dog fight between a movie that may be overlooked and one that could be held back by its [American] R rating. Of the two major new releases, I’d recommend Straight Outta Compton for everyone under and over 30 (as long as you’re not under 12 or over 50) and The Man from U.N.C.L.E. to anyone who’s looking for a spy-movie pallet cleanser after Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation and before this fall’s Spectre (or anyone over 50 who still remembers the show).

Never heard of Beyond the Mask? Me either, and as open-minded as I try to be, I have to be honest and say that once I saw “faith-based” in the description I pretty much checked out and stopped watching the trailer. And if I’m being more honest, the main reason I clicked on the trailer was because John Rhys-Davies (Sallah from Indiana Jones) is in it.

Back to the Future‘s also playing again this weekend at Telus World of Science, so I mostly say go see that, or you might find a few reasons to hang around outside.
